.What we call prayer—our active, two-way interaction with God in real
time—has a long and remarkable history.
It has involved the momentous discovery of its possibilities by curious
and earnest people who have, thankfully, been willing to share. And their sharing has become, for us today, a
treasure of possibilities for our own time.
In our new weekly study we make the timeless request, “Teach us to
pray!”, and find that our spiritual mentors in the Bible, starting with Moses,
David, the prophets and apostles, and culminating in the Lord Jesus, are very
willing to do so.
