How does God get my attention? What does God want me to attend to, right here and right now?

“There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.”  At a time when Jesus was being introduced to us, John was introduced first.  His remarkable story is about preparing us to see Jesus, hear Jesus, and actually participate with Jesus in the extraordinary life he was about to share with us.

Even today, people are magnetically drawn to the wildness of John, and even to his shattering of our self-satisfied sense of right-ness, and the troubling conviction of what is wrong—in our world, in us.  And we cannot look away in indifference when he cries out, “Look!  The Lamb of God!”
